tomatoes are evil

tomatoes are evil

Holy gee, I've been wrong all this time! I thought tomatoes were good. I mean Good, with a capital "G." But apparently, they're EEEVIL!!!

The site Tomatoesareevil.com is dedicated to the belief that the humble tomato fruit is in fact evil. Now, why would they make a whole website dedicated to that belief if it weren't TRUE?!?!?! I ask you!

They offer tomato-free recipes for pizza and pasta and even ketchup. Yick. Bet that's tasty.

  • Sadly, it seems little more than a site designed to sell t-shirts and mugs. I have the impression that the web site owners needed something to put on t-shirts and mugs, and came up with something to put on them after.

Honestly, if they really hated tomatoes, you would think that the home page would have more of a description of WHY. I had to click in a few pages to see any rationale at all. All THAT had is a listing of a few facts of the history of the fruit and that there is a toxin in tomatoes (what doesn't have toxins?).

  • Well, yes, it's kinda just a bait site. I wouldn't be surprised if these folks didn't really think that tomatoes AREN'T evil.

I bet they don't even leave the room when a tomato comes in, or anything.

But I still found it interesting to visit, if only for the amusing posters. Which I wouldn't buy.

  • Dude...

I have long held the belief that tomatoes are evil. I mean, if you can't get your act straight on the whole, "imma fruit, no wait, imma veggie" front..then why are you even here.

Aside from that..have you ever gotten spam in your blog comments. I mean, besides inane comments from Justin. I checked my mail today and someone had put an advertisement in my latest blog entry. Poo to da spammers.

  • Yes! I HAVE been getting some garbage in my comments. This one guy, with some kind of network financial thing.

It's a new kind of useless marketing thing, which will only serve to pollute the bandwidth and mess up the interwebs for the rest of us.

  • Ok, I guess I was mistaken. Some tomatoes ARE evil.

Raw tomatoes, tomato chunks, tomato soup, etc.

Teh only good tomatoes are in non-chunky pizza sauce, ketchup or catsup (preferably, again, non-chunky), non-chunk spagetti sauce...well, you get the idea.

  • Bah, J.

I don't object to tomatoes in chunk form. I just don't want em on my front lawn, doing whatever it is they do.

Let them stay where people WANT them! (STAY OFFA MY LAWN!)

I'm so tired of you liberals and your view that everyone not only has to accept that tomatoes will exist in chunk form, but that everyone has to embrace them and not dislike them. You tomato chunk, feel free to exist, just don't come up to me screaming "IN YOUR FACE WITH TOMATO PASTE!"

  • I guess the tomato post really hit a nerve.

It's probably them damn tomato lobbyists. They've been stirrin' up trouble. With oregano and other appropriate spices.
